This summer heat wave has nothing on our July OzoThings! While school may not be in session that hasn’t stopped Ozobot lovers from coding and creating! From creating programs in Ozobot Blockly to drawing out different sequences with Color Codes to make compound words, Evo has been busy keeping up with your summertime creations.
Check out some of our favorite STEAM projects and lessons we’ve seen this month.
Literacy and Robots
Yesterday we combined literacy and robotics to code our compound words! Students used the @Ozobot to underline AND trace the letters of their words 🤖🏕📝 #CampDiscovery #GECDSBSLP2022 @DarinTeach @KellieLalonde10 1/2 pic.twitter.com/W88jPZHPbs

Ms. Laforet at Camp Discovery in Greater Essex County, used her love of literacy and robots to help her students create compound words! After creating their word, students used Color Codes to have Evo trace and underline their word! What a fun activity and great learning tool! Keep up the great work Ms. Laforet!
Evo the Musical Robot
My students love using @Ozobot in my music classroom to create a music track that they can sing along with. This helps with pre-literacy skills. Here is one I created for them. Often I would have them change colors for certain words in the lyrics for the assessment. pic.twitter.com/sVhD0VFNDL

We know Evo can be a bit chatty when using Ozobot Blockly, but who knew Evo could sing too? Mark Britt uses Evo in his music class to create a music track that his students can sign along to! This helps with his students’ pre-literacy skills and is a great way to keep students engaged in the classroom.

Rain can’t Stop STEAM
A rainy yet fun day at @camptwelvetrails! Today we had much fun indoors doing robotics and engineering with our kids such as playing with @meet_edison robots, @ozobot’s, making straw rockets, @sphero Indy bots, and botley robots! #STEM #stemkidsnyc #camptwelvetrails #summercamp pic.twitter.com/YUROybrmsn

Camp Twelve Trails doesn’t let a little rain ruin their summer fun! Evo can make the rainiest days fun, trust us! The campers spent their time inside making straw rockets and coding with Evo using Color Codes. Looks like a blast!
Color Codes is Key
Learning lots from @quconnections at Harrowsmith! Students were challenged to create a route for their @Ozobot using different code. @OntarioSLP pic.twitter.com/eIZlX2CHAZ

Campers at the Limestone District School Board’s Read-A-Lot Summer Literacy Program are putting their Color Codes skills to the test this summer! Using a fill in the blank map, campers had to pick the correct code to help Evo through the map.
