For this installment of Ozobot’s Learn Anywhere lesson series, we’re sharing more ready-to-run, remote-friendly math lessons for grades 2-5. These lessons are aligned with Common Core State Standards and are designed to be completely flexible for remote or in-person learning. Each lesson comes with step-by-step video instruction and is designed to be self-guided and self-paced as needed.

If you’re new to Ozobot’s remote-friendly Learn Anywhere lesson series, start with Weeks 1-4 to introduce students to their Ozobots and Color Code basics. Once you’ve completed those intro lessons, dive into the lessons below. These lessons use Ozobot Evo and Color Codes to increase student engagement, integrate CS, and get kids working hands-on from anywhere.
Week 7: Math
Grades 2-5
Color Codes
Recommended pacing: 1 lesson per week
Length of each lesson: 30-45 mins
Grade 2: Odd or Even Shopping
Students will count objects by 2s to determine if a total is odd or even. Then, they’ll write equations to show how even totals and odd totals are made. They’ll use Color Codes to show the odd and even groups of objects Ozobot will shop for.

Grade 3: Rounding Fun
Students will use a number line to round whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100. From there, students will use Color Codes to program Ozobot to move to the correct rounded number.

Grade 4: Division Race with Remainders
Students will solve long division problems with one-digit divisors, and a remainder, while racing with their Ozobot. Students will use Color Codes to program Ozobot’s speed and adjust the difficulty.

Grade 5: Maze of Operations
For this lesson, students will practice using the order of operations to solve equations and decode missing Color Codes to complete a maze for their Ozobot to move through.
