From kindergarten classrooms to fourth grade STEAM challenges, April was packed with creativity, led by educators bringing Ozobot into their lessons. This month’s OzoThings highlights students using code to explore everything from early literacy and fractions to storytelling and neighborhood maps. Take a look at what these inspiring classrooms were up to!

In Mrs. Somai’s classroom, math concepts came to life as students programmed their Ozobot Evos to trace a variety of shapes, using movement and code to discover the principles of area and perimeter firsthand.

In Ms. Wyatt’s classroom, students used Ozobot Blockly to program their Evos to navigate a custom storyline, building out sequences of code and watching their programming come to life in real time!

Students at Eastern Elementary put their fraction skills to the test by using color codes to guide their Ozobot Evos across a worksheet, sorting fractions as greater than, less than, or equal to before filling in the corresponding code that sent Evo on its way.

Students at Roguewood Elementary kicked off their coding journey with Ozobot Blockly, programming their Ozobot Evos using simple block-based commands to control movement, light effects, sounds, and more.

As part of an end-of-year STEAM challenge, fourth grade students tackled fractions and decimals by programming their Ozobot Evos to bring the math to life through code.

In Mrs. Kay’s classroom, students paired early literacy with coding as they programmed their Ozobot Evos to navigate CVC words like “mug,” “bug,” and “bed,” filling in color codes to complete each word.

Students designed creative maps of their own imaginary neighborhoods, then used color codes to guide their Ozobot Evos through the streets, past buildings, lakes, and other landmarks they brought to life on paper.
Thank you to all our educators who shared their students’ creations. We love seeing your ideas and creativity come to life. Keep the STEAM activities and ideas coming, and don’t forget to tag @Ozobot or use #Ozobot in your posts for a chance to be featured in our next roundup of favorite #OzoThings.
