Many schools face strict WiFi restrictions that can make connecting classroom technology difficult. With the latest Ozobot Ari update, educators can now connect Ari directly to the Editor using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), eliminating the need for WiFi.
This step-by-step guide will walk you through how to update your Ozobot Ari robot so you can unlock this new functionality, update your apps, and access the latest learning experiences available for Ari.
1. Open this link in your web browser.
2. Connect your Ari to your device via USB cable then select ‘Continue’.

3. Select Ari from pop up menu and hit ‘connect’

4. Once Ari is connected, confirm the Device ID matches what is displayed on Ari’s screen and select ‘Allow’. You may need to scroll on Ari’s screen to see the full text.

5. Read the update process summary and select ‘Update’ to proceed. Please note, the update will take place in two phases. If you are updating more than one Ari robot, you can disconnect your robot from the USB cable once the file upload is complete and start the process with your next Ari robot.

6. Your Ari will begin updating with the screen below.

7. Once the initial upload is complete, press ‘Reboot’ on Ari’s screen. If you are updating multiple Ari robots, at this time you can disconnect your Ari and connect the next bot to initiate the updating process.

Once complete, your Ari screen will read “100%”. You are now ready to use your Ari via BLE connection, no WiFi needed! As always, our customer care team is here to assist or troubleshoot any issues. Please reach out to support@ozobot.com for assistance.
