August OzoThings 2023: summer STEAM activities

Back to School: August OzoThings!

As summer winds down and school is back in session, another year of STEAM learning and exploration is afoot. This month we saw a plethora of activities, from learning the phases of the moon, to an Ozobot soccer game– we saw it all! Check out some of these STEAM activities educators are sharing in the August OzoThings roundup.

STEAM-Y Storytelling!

Students at W-Sydney school combined Ozobots with storytelling. Through a very hands-on and scaffolded process, they created artwork and costumes to take Evo through their storyline.

August OzoThings 2023: students create a soccer-inspired game board and use bots to score goals

Game On!

These students created a soccer-inspired game board in honor of the World Cup! Their bots had a battle on the field to see which team could score the most goals.

Hearts Galore

Ms. Doering’s third grade class put their bots to the test by creating personalized artwork for Evo to follow!

Ms. Kurtz’s kindergarten students learned the basics of coding by color coding lines, zig zags, shapes and more!

Moon Phases!

Ms. Gallagher’s fourth grade class took their coding skills to the next level with these moon orbit sheets. From the full moon, first quarter, new moon, and third quarter, they covered all the moon phases!

Books and Bots!

These students learned the rules for the library and the proper way to take care of books! By coding Evo around the worksheet they learned the do’s and don’ts of the library.

Virginia State

Ms. Russell’s class learned more about their home state of Virginia by using their bots to map out the geography using color codes. Keep up the good work!
